Today I will be looking at WordPress themes for travel agencies and tour operators. We have previously discussed more general travel themes, but as the WordPress theme market grows, so too does the WordPress bloggers need to niche down their lists.
Travel agencies, and especially tour operators are often small to medium sized companies that require a website that is easy to manage, and does not require any specialist website development skills. This is exactly what makes WordPress the ideal platform to host such websites, as it is easy to use, and really simple to keep updated.
In addition to the simplicity of WordPress, many of the travel themes listed below offer added functionality to ensure your visitors can easily navigate your website and contact you when necessary.
Below is my curated list for the very best travel agency & tour operator themes released to date.
‘Love Travel’ is a responsive multilingual ready theme that is ideal for travel agencies to showcase their latest promotions, and holiday deals.
The theme allows visitors to search these deals with an advanced travel filter search bar, and provides mega menu functionality to ensure all the information you wish to provides can easily be done so from the navigational menu.
The template is also WooCommerce compatible.
‘Altair’ is a modern travel agency theme that would also work for tour operators offering a good selection of tours.
The theme can be either full width or you can decide to use the boxed version of the template.
key features; unique booking form, advanced tour search, parallax scrolling, testimonial support, and extremely advanced administration panel to help you get your website just how you want it.
This template offers an advanced drag and drop page builder system, and administration panel to ensure you get the design right first time round.
The theme is also PayPal integrated meaning you can take payments through the website when people decide to book their tour; whether it be a bus trip round London, or a helicopter ride over the grand canyon.
Released in 2013, this WordPress theme is probably one of the oldest to make our list, but it is well thought out and is well designed for purpose.
Arguably one of the most eye pleasing themes on the list. It offers an advanced hotel booking system, prominent filtered search bar, and eight different homepage layout options to choose from.
A truly stunning theme released in 2015. A five star theme.
As with many of these modern travel themes it comes with an advanced filtering search system to ensure your visitors can find the best holiday, or tour, based on their preferences.
Ideal for those looking to promote hotels, tours, car rentals, or self catering accommodation.
The only theme on the list with BuddyPress support, allowing you to run a mini travel social network alongside your business website. Though this may only be seen as a core feature to the few.
This is perhaps the most advanced theme on our list, offering a drag and drop page builder, advanced search form, WooCommerce compatibility, bbPress support so you can easily add a forum, multilingual support, events calendar, mega menu (with widget support), and the choice of Google Fonts.
An amazing WordPress theme built with tour operators in mind. The theme is ideal for those offering tours that are a little out of the ordinary, and also ideal for those carter business’. Whether you provide white water rafting, fishing expeditions, or simply walking retreats this may be just the theme you are looking for.
The theme offers live front end customization’s via the front end admin panel, where you can easily select from unlimited color variations, 600+ Google fonts, and lots of shortcodes.
A slightly dated tour operator theme, that is still perfect for local tour operators not looking for something too fancy. This theme does what it say on the tin, and holds a certain elegance by its design.
Price:$39.00 (or all themes for $49.00)
Admittedly not my favorite design on the list (not helped by the poor screenshot), this theme has proven popular for a long time among travel agents and tour operators, though I believe its days may be numbered having seen some of the more modern designs that have made our list.
An ideal theme for a city tour company, as the theme displays all the local tour sites on a single map ensuring that there is absolutely no doubt of what they will see when booking a tour through your company.
Unlike the other themes on this list this one enables the ability for customers to rate the tour and even leave a review for others to see. Also has a built in reservation facility.
