Is This The Very Best WordPress Newsletter Plugin?

Its been a little over a month since the launch of the MyMail Newsletter WordPress Plugin and it seems that the excitement still isn’t about to fade. With over 219 sales (EDIT: 602 as of 18/02/2012) the elite author  seems to have got it just right, and with updates as well as extras coming thick and fast there is probably no better time to get involved. First lets look at why you might want to invest in this plugin!

It is rare that I get excited over plugins released through CodeCanyon, as many of them are second rate at best – but there is something very different about the MyMail plugin.

The MyMail Plugin – Key Features

1. Unlimited Forms

With this plugin you are able to create unlimited forms to enable people to subscribe to your list. There are no limits!

Have a different form for subscribers depending on the category they are currently viewing, or any other setup you wish to test.

Below you can see the form creation page in the WordPress administration panel. I have highlighted the “add new form button” so you can see how a new form is added. (Please click to enlarge)

2. Unlimited Lists

In addition to being able to create unlimited subscriber forms, you are also able to create unlimited lists, and give your subscriber’s the choice as to what lists they wish to subscribe to.

This feature could be exceptionally important for those that run large websites and cover a huge number of topics. There is no better way to ensure that people unsubscribe from your list than sending them content that they are just not interested in – nurture those contacts.

In the image above you will see the options available for determining exactly what choices you offer these customers, and below you see the screenshot of the administration panel that lets you create these lists (click to increase the image size).

3. Single Or Double Opt-In Options

Unlike Aweber this newsletter plugin lets you determine whether your subscribers need to double opt-in or just provide their initial details before being subscribed to your list. This is a single check box option that can be activated or deactivated straight from your newsletter administration backend (see image below under subscription field options).

4. Subscription Field Options

Have you ever wanted to collect more information from your subscribers than the average newsletter signup form allows? The MyMail plugin allows you to create custom fields for this very reason. Either make these required fields, or just as additional information.  (see image below, click to enlarge)

5. Auto Responders

Auto responders are a must if you want to make immediate contact with those that have signed up to your email list – this is especially true if you have decided to use the double opt in option.

This auto responder tool also allows you to limit receivers with special conditions to ensure you are getting the most from your list.

6. Campaign Scheduler

Schedule your campaign to be sent (and more importantly received) at a time when your list is most responsive.

Is your list more or less likely to read your emails at the weekend?

7. Dynamic & Custom Tags (Placeholders)

Easily personalize your newsletter content to each and every subscriber with easy to use tags.

CAN-SPAM permanent tags included to ensure that all your email messages are within the requirement of law (click the image for a better view).

8. Web Versions For Each Newsletter

Make it as easy as possible for those receiving your emails to read them. Easy to include web versions of your emails so they can be read online instead of in their email dashboard.

9. Share with Social Media Services

Share your newsletter with all your social networks from the administration page and give your list the ability to share the web version of your email with a single click of a button. Adding share buttons with tag placeholders is easy. A great way to increase your subscribers with no extra work required on your part.

10. Sidebar Widgets

The MyMail plugin is preloaded with a sidebar widget that makes implementation of your subscriber forms a hassle free process.

11. Campaign Tracking

No mailing list plugin is complete without a great stats dashboard. This is the area that lets you know exactly how your campaigns are performing, and whether you are sending the right newsletters to your lists.

Luckily for us this plugin has more than enough statistics available to help you run a great profitable campaign. The dashboard will let you know exactly how many people received your email (per campaign), how many of these people actually opened your email, how many clicked on a link within the email, how many people unsubscribed & finally how many emails ‘bounced’ or were not received by the recipient. You will also receive data on the number of clicks per Country.

12. Fully Customizable Newsletter Template

The MyMail plugin comes preloaded with a single fully customizable newsletter template (DEMO), but a further 6 (at the time of writing) templates are available as add ons (discussed below).

Each theme comes with fully customizable options, where you can customize the colours and backgrounds. The newsletters content is fully customizable too, when you create the newsletter.

Addon Templates For MyMail WordPress Plugin

Below I have listed the extra templates that can be purchased to better serve your subscribers. These templates have been specially designed for the MyMail plugin (but can also be used for MailChimp) so are exceptionally easy to install and modify from the MyMail administration area.

Each template has numerous color and layout options with the ability to edit using the drag and drop interface.
